Thoughts....
As everyone knows, I attach my thoughts to the actual charts so I'll be brief. I've posted the charts that I'll be paying close attention to tomorrow as well as a couple of setups that are bank related. If I do anything different, I'll post it to Twitter.

Thoughts....
Regardless what the market does this week, I think I've posted enough setups to keep us busy. Included in the Weekend Review are some intraday setups suited for more aggressive or experienced traders. I've used the 60 minute time frame with each.
As far as the market is concerned, I still think it's best to be nimble. Although I will play the occasional breakout setup, the majority of my trades have been shorts at objective and identifiable resistance levels. I get stopped out a lot, but the pain is minimal because my stops are so tight. It's really no different than I've ever traded. I've always been a singles & double hitter. I don't hit many home runs, but I rarely swing and miss. I just hit a lot of foul tips.
I didn't post the spreadsheet this weekend because I'm not sure if anyone else uses it. If anyone wants me to post it, drop me an email and I'll get it up. I'll make a post during the week if I come across anything exceptional.

Thoughts....
I posted a few short term / daytrade setups I'm going to be watching over the next day. They are short term and aggressive, but I intend on using the tightest of stops should any reach the level where I'm willing to act. The sentiment indicators I follow signal a rally is on the horizon. Unfortunately, options expire this week which sometimes distort the information we have. If the market is weak off the open, things should get interesting. If I do anything different than what I posted tonight and over the weekend, I'll post it to Twitter.
I've also made a list of some basic technical scans I use at stockcharts.com. I'll provide a link in the "Education" section of the blog if anyone needs them for future reference. If anyone has any questions, don't hesitate to let me know.

Thoughts....
I didn't get to spend as much time as I normally do searching for fresh setups over the weekend. I'll make a new post sometime during the week when I come across something interesting. The "easier" trades continue to be the short setups. As I posted a couple of months ago, here is an example how I trade them. If I need to provide more or different examples, send me an email and I'll get something up.
Below is the spread sheet I'll use this week for the short and long setups. It makes it easier to load everything in Quotetracker.

Thoughts....
Since many from the list have triggered the past couple of days, the breakout watch has been depleted. I've added a few tonight that I feel will be worth watching over the next week or so. Several in the update need some more time under resistance to allow the 50 Day MA to flatten out. As usual, they are all short to intermediate term setups. To hold the risk to a minimum, the 8 MA can be used as a guide for a stop. If any bust over resistance, they should work pretty quick. I don't see a point in waiting around hoping it's going to work when there are a ton of other opportunities out there.

Thoughts....
As we head into the New Year, I've included several "Breakout Setups" that should do well over the long term. I've mentioned it before, but I really believe we're going to be in a stock pickers market in the years to come. Regardless what occurs (Bull or Bear Market), the new leaders will be companies that most of us have never heard of. I suspect several of these will be listed in the IDB 100 sometime in the future. Each individual chart can be found in the "Weekend Review." I'm only going to post an updated chart in the future when they are at or near actionable levels.
As the Sentiment and Breadth charts indicate, we are likely at or nearing an intermediate term top. However, there may be some upside left as the primary sentiment chart I follow hasn't provided the "Get Short" signal. When it does, I'll post it.
If I come across anything significant, I'll make an updated post during the week. If you haven't already done so, you can sign up for the FeedBurner email service or Twitter. They are both free and located at the blog. I also have a link of my Public Charts located at StockCharts.com with the main indices. It's located in the "Links" section of the blog. I'll add charts to it throughout the week.

Pivot Calculator
I've added a "Pivot Calculator" to the blog. It's located at the bottom of the home page. I know pivots can be determined several different ways, but I've included a couple of examples below in how I prefer to use it. The calculator can be used for any security in any time frame. I tend to stick with the daily & weekly for the S&P 500 & NDX 100. I hope to add some improvements to it in the next couple of months.
Education - Short Scans
I use the following scans to find short setups. They are all based on "Moving Averages." After I run the scan, I scroll over them using a 8 year weekly chart. Patterns are much easier to spot when you stretch the chart out. It also reduces the noise you get when you look at the shorter time frames. I use the scanning software provided by stockcharts.com.
Short Scan #1 [type = stock] and [country = us] and [daily close >= 5] and [daily volume >= 100000] and [daily close >= daily sma(50,daily close)] and [daily close >= daily sma(200,daily close)] and [daily close >= daily sma(20,daily close)]
Short Scan #2 [type = stock] and [country = us] and [daily close >= 8] and [daily volume >= 100000] and [daily high >= daily sma(20,daily close)] and [daily high >= daily sma(200,daily close)] and [daily close <= daily sma(50,daily close)]
Short Scan #3 [type = stock] and [country = us] and [daily high >= daily sma(10,daily close)] and [daily high <= daily sma(200,daily close)] and [daily volume >= 100000] and [daily high <= daily sma(50,daily close)] and [daily high >= daily sma(20,daily close)] and [exchange is Nasdaq]

Thoughts....
I've included some market breadth & sentiment charts I follow in the weekend update. I also added a few new and fresh setups to the watch list. Since it's likely going to be another slow and boring week, anything I do will be small with tight stops. The fireworks / volatility should be back next week. I'm going to be adding more educational content over the next couple of days including scans.
